Crews battled a large house fire in Weehawken Saturday morning that took an extra effort to put out.
The incident took place on Sterling Avenue.
Weehawken Deputy Fire Chief Charles Thomas said chemicals burning in the home from paint cans made the situation hazardous. Ammunition was also reported in the building, but was not affected by the fire.
There was no one in the home at the time. Some firefighters suffered minor injuries.
Weehawken police and fire officials are investigating what may have sparked the blaze
