MAKE SURE YOUR PROPERLY DISPOSE OF YOUR SCBA CYLINDERS!

Tuesday, September 4, 2007 I work for a fire goods dealer. We take many older, composite, steel and aluminum cylinders out of service for many reasons. Most often this composite cylinders reaching their 15 year service life. These cylinders should NOT be simply discarded in the trash. They are still pressure vessels, even if the valve is removed. If a dept. takes the cylinders out of service themselves, I recommend they cut them in half with a Sawz-all or similar. The base material is aluminum. These old cylinders can easily be used to transport Anhydrous Ammonia. Here in Indiana, this is a HUGE problem. Every customer I discuss cylinders with, I tell them this. Some give them to me for disposal, others do not. I do not charge for disposal. FFCC.COM NOTES : FFCC.COM NOTES
