NJ FF SUFFERS BACK INJURY AT WIND DRIVEN FIRE

Monday, March 18, 2013 A fast-moving fire ripped through a home in Hackensack, N.J., and damaged another house Sunday, leaving a resident and a firefighter injured.

Hackensack fire officialssaid that dozens of firefighters battled the blaze, which broke out at 433 Park St. shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday. The fire spread to the house next door at 435 Park St., the newspaper reported.

It took roughly 90 minutes to bring the blaze under control, as firefighters contended with icy and windy conditions.

Officials said the injured firefighter hurt his back after slipping and falling on icy ground, while a woman being evacuated from a nearby house suffered an asthma attack after inhaling smoke.
