On Monday, January 28, 2013, Warriors Mark Volunteer Fire Company, Huntingdon County, Company 22, was returning from a vehicle accident traveling north on Route 350. Rescue 22, driven by an experience firefighter, was half way through the blind S-curves south of Warriors Mark when a loaded tri-axle came into view. The tri-axle was traveling south several feet into the Rescue\'s lane of travel. The Rescue\'s driver swerved to the right onto the shoulder to avoid being hit. The tri-axle also attempted to avoid hitting the Rescue by swerving back into his lane of travel. The driver of the rescue stated that there were only inches between the two vehicles. The tri-axle continued onto the southbound shoulder where he hit the guard rail and over-corrected. He crossed over to the opposite shoulder were the tri-axle overturned. The assistant chief who was following the Rescue witnessed the accident and was able to stop prior to hitting the overturned tri-axle. The road was closed for several hours while PennDOT assisted in cleanup and the tri-axle was removed.
To be a defensive driver, always use the seat belts, as a passenger to not distract the driver.
