A Spring volunteer firefighter rushing to the
scene of a house fire was injured in a collision in north Harris County
Wednesday evening.
The accident happened around 8:15pm at the intersection of Aldine Westfield and Cypresswood.
Harris County Pct. 4 deputies say the firefighter was headed southbound
on Aldine Westfield when he was struck by a car heading westbound on
Cypresswood. The impact of the collision overturned the firefighter's
vehicle.
Officials say the firefighter was driving his personal
vehicle but had his emergency lights turned on. The driver of the other
car had the green light and just didn't see him coming.
The firefighter was transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
The driver and passenger in the other car weren't transported.
