Brandenburg woman dies in crash with ambulance - Kentucky

Friday, January 11, 2013 by Chelsea Rabideau

MEADE CO., Ky.(WHAS11) -- Kentucky State Police are investigating a crash that left a 27-year-old Brandenburg woman dead. KSP says the woman failed to stop at the intersection of Highways 333 and 313 and collided with an ambulance and one other vehicle.

The woman's 10-month-old child was also in the car. The baby was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital on Louisville with non-life threatening injuries.

KSP says two EMTs were in the ambulance. They were not on an emergency run and did not have lights or sirens on. One EMT was thrown from the ambulance. We're told one suffered pelvic injuries and the other serious back injuries. They were both flown to UofL Hospital. At this time, their injuries are not considered life threatening.

The name of the woman who died has not yet been released. KSP says the baby appears to have been properly strapped into a car seat. The crash is still under investigation.
