Thursday, January 3, 2013  SEMINOLE, Okla. — Four people, including a paramedic and two nurses, were injured Wednesday when a Mediflight helicopter made a hard emergency landing in a field shortly after takeoff.

The pilot, who was among the injured, said he believes the chopper's engine failed, according toNews OK.

Okla. Highway Patrol trooper Betsy Randolph said the pilot may have suffered a broken leg in the incident and that all four victims were hospitalized.

The aircraft was on its way to pick up a patient and no patients were on board.

The pilot has been with Air Methods, the company that operates Mediflight, for more than 10 years and the chopper was three years old.
