Dallas police say that a firefighter and driver were injured early
Tuesday when a Ford pickup rear-ended a fire truck, after a series of
unrelated police incidents.
Dallas police were called around 2:55 a.m. about an accident near
11700 N. Central Expressway. When they arrived, they did not find a car
accident. They saw a woman who was stranded on the side of the road in
an unrelated incident.
After the woman got into the police car, the car was struck by a
suspected drunken driver. There were no injuries. The driver, John
Bryson, 32, was arrested and taken to jail.
About 10 minutes later, a nearby Dallas-Fire Rescue ladder truck
blocking the accident scene was struck by a Ford pickup. A firefighter
and the driver of the pickup were taken to the hospital, according to
Dallas police.
Dallas-Fire Rescue Haz-Mat responded to a fuel spill from the fire truck.
