Fire officials say no one was home when a fire that destroyed a
one-story residence in Carlisle Borough broke out Tuesday evening.
Union Fire Chief Dave Weaver said firefighters were called to a blaze at 522 Thornwood Lane around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Weaver said the fire caused severe damage to the home’s interior and killed a dog that was trapped inside.
A
Union Company firefighter at the scene reported shortness of breath and
was taken to the hospital for evaluation, according to Weaver.
