Crash involving ambulance sends 4 people to the hospital - California

Sunday, December 2, 2012 By ALEJANDRA MOLINA and KEN STEINHARDT / THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

FULLERTON - Four people were taken to a nearby hospital after two traffic crashes occurred around the same intersection Thursday afternoon.

One of the crashes was reported at 12:02 p.m. on Brea Boulevard and Bastanchury Road, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

One crash involved a Volvo and an ambulance, which had a driver, passenger, and a patient inside, said Fullerton Sgt. Tony Rios.

The ambulance, without lights or sirens, was traveling westbound on Bastanchury and was headed to St. Jude Medical Center, Rios added.

The three people in the ambulance and one person in the Volvo were taken to a hospital.

The other crash involved a Honda Civic and a Toyota Prius and did not result in injuries, Rios said.
