ONE CRITICAL AFTER PICK-UP/FIRE APPARATUS CRASH IN NV
Monday, November 26, 2012
One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a collision with a fire truck.
The driver of a 2001 Ford F150, Adriana Cano, 48, was attempting to
make a left turn on westbound Karen Ave. to southbound Lamb Ave. around 2
p.m. on Saturday.
Las Vegas Police told Action News they believe the driver of the
pickup truck ran a stop sign. The fire truck then hit the pickup on the
driver's side, and Cano became pinned.
The crew in the fire truck was able to assist the woman.
Police said the fire truck's lights were not on at the time, and there were no traffic control devices requiring it to stop.
Cano was taken to UMC in critical condition with severe head
injuries. The operator and three occupants of the fire engine did not
report injuries and remained at the scene.
Police said alcohol was not a factor.
The collision remains under investigation under LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
