One firefighter suffered injuries at the scene of a fire at an
apartment house in the borough Sunday night, said borough Assistant Fire
Chief Jim O'Brien, who was in charge of the scene.
"Right now, I
don't have a status on him," O'Brien said at 10:52 p.m. Sunday. O'Brien
would not release the name of the firefighter; however he said the
firefighter was taken to one of the Schuylkill Health System hospitals
The fire on the second floor apartment at 327 N.
Front St. was reported at 9:43 p.m., according to a supervisor at County
Communications Center, Pottsville.

by David C. Eckert, 1810 Howard Ave., Pottsville, according to the
