Tuesday, November 6, 2012 FirefighterCloseCals.com has been advised of a Firefighter death in Bladen County, NC

Captain David Tatum of the White Oak Fire Department, Bladen County Fire Station 61, had responded to a vehicle fire yesterday and fell ill while at the fire.

He left the scene and returned home, later collapsing. He was transported to a medical center and then later transferred to another facility where he was put on life support.

He died around 13:00 hours today.

No arrangements have been made.

The White Oak Fire Department is being assisted by the North Carolina Fallen Firefighter’s Foundation and area departments.
