FIRE APPARATUS CRASH IN INDIANA

Sunday, October 14, 2012 Two people, including a Muncie Firefighter, were injured yesterday morning when a Muncie Fire Department truck collided with a pickup truck at McGalliard Road and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Witnesses said the eastbound fire truck was on an emergency run, with its siren and emergency lights activated, when it collided with the northbound pickup truck.

Two people — the pickup truck’s driver and a firefighter who was reportedly “jostled forward” by the impact — were taken by ambulance to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after the 1122 hours crash. Neither was believed to be seriously injured. The names of the accident victims were not immediately available.
