Hamel, Ill (KSDK) -- Four people were injured Monday night after an ambulance and a semi truck collided while the ambulance was responding to a medical emergency.
Illinois State Police said the ambulance was heading southbound on I-55, near milepost 28, when it made a sudden turn to the right and a tractor trailer hit the side of the ambulance. The ambulance overturned.
The driver of the ambulance and three people in the tractor trailer were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
