UPDATE: ARRANGEMENTS FOR NM FIRE CHIEF KILLED IN WRECK

     

Tuesday, July 24, 2012 ervices for Sandoval County Fire Chief Jon Tibbetts will be held Thursday and Friday in Rio Rancho.

Tibbetts, 59, was killed in a car crash on I-25 Monday while on duty in a marked county vehicle. He had been fire chief since 2004.

Daniels Family Funeral Services announced Tuesday that a public visitation for Tibbetts will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE in Rio Rancho.

His memorial service will be held Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Santa Ana Star Center, 3001 Civic Center in Rio Rancho.

Procession and Interment will follow immediately after the service at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho.

Tibbetts will be laid to rest in the Public Servants Garden at Vista Verde Memorial Park.

This section is reserved specifically for firefighters, police and EMS.

This is also the final resting place for SCSO Sgt. Joseph Harris and BCSO Deputy Dean Miera, who were killed in the line of duty.

Tibbetts leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
