Sondrio - A Bergamo-based in helicopter ambulance crashed just after 1800 hours in Morbegno, outside Sondrio. The helicopter crashed in forest in the Orobie Alps with passengers and pilots safely escaping. The helicopter had just rescued a motorcyclist who had fallen into a ravine, when its rotor blades struck a high voltage cable and was forced to perform a crash landing from a moderate height. Six persons are reported to have survived the accident: a pilot, and engineer, a doctor, a nurse, an alpine rescue specialist and the motorcyclist. All were hospitalised for further medical tests.
