Saturday, July 21, 2012 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - An volunteer ambulance crew taking a patient to the hospital struck a car Saturday evening at the intersection of Lakes Boulevard and Ferrell Parkway.

Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bruce Nedelka said the accident happened at 6:48 p.m. The ambulance, assigned to the Princess Anne Courthouse Rescue Squad, hit a sedan.

Nedelka said no one aboard the ambulance or the car suffered injuries in the crash.

A second ambulance was called and continued taking the patient to the hospital.
