Friday, June 15, 2012 A firefighter trainee was injured during training on Thursday.

Houston Fire Department officials said the trainee was injured at the Val Janke Training Academy in the 8000 block of Braniff in southeast Houston.

The trainee was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. His condition has not been released.

Officials have not said what type of injury was suffered or how it occurred.
