Two vehicle collision involving an ambulance in Kennesaw - Georgia

Saturday, April 28, 2012 By Tammy Overstreet

A Georgia EMS ambulance was one of two vehicles involved in a motor vehicle accident this afternoon in Kennesaw. The accident happened on Stilesboro Road and Old Highway 41 near the Kennesaw Battlefield.

One patient that the Georgia EMS ambulance was transporting at the time of the accident suffered minor injuries as a result of the auto accident. The patient was placed into another ambulance and transported to a local hospital for treatment. It is unclear at this time which driver will be facing charges as a result of the accident.

Sundial Plumbing employee, who is also a Polk County Crime Examiner subscriber, was driving in the area and happened to be in the first vehicle stopped in the line of traffic.

The employee snapped a few photo’s to share with the Polk County Crime Examiner audience. One of the photos show that the right side passenger airbag in the ambulance deployed on impact.

According to the Cobb County scanner feed audio, the ambulance is a dual axle box style and required a heavy duty wrecker.
