Ambulance driver killed in road crash - Malaysia

Saturday, April 28, 2012 KUANTAN: An ambulance driver was one of two people who were killed in separate accidents in Bentong yesterday.

State public order and traffic chief Supt Mohamed Fauzi Abdul Rahim said the  ambulance driver, Mazlan Khamis, 27, who worked for a private hospital was
killed immediately during the accident at Km 19, Jalan Baru Bentong-Raub.

His 18-year-old attendant was seriously injured in the 5.40 am accident, Fauzi said.

"The victim was driving from Kota Baharu heading to Kuala Lumpur, when he was believed to have lost control of the vehicle and skidded to the right side
of the road before ramming an electric pole," he said.

Fauzi said the remains of the victim were sent to the Bentong Hospital, while his assistant was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Fauzi said in a separate accident at KM 4.8 Jalan Bentong-Raub, a motorcyclist, Azizul Azmi Abdul, 17, was killed in a collission with an express
bus.

The Form Five student from Bentong was confirmed dead while receiving treatment in Bentong Hospital.

"The bus, with 20 passengers aboard, was heading towards Kota Baharu from Kuala Lumpur in the 4.30 am accident. The victim who was riding alone was
believed to have skidded onto the bus lane before he was rammed by the bus which caused both of his legs to be broken," he said.
