A
civilian motorist was killed yesterday morning when he rear-ended an operating
fire apparatus in Hesperia, California. A San Bernardino
County Firefighter who was in the truck when it was struck, received NLT
injuries and was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. The other
driver, a man in his 20's, lost control while exiting the northbound 15 Freeway
at around 0645 hours and was killed.
The fire apparatus was stopped on the shoulder of the off-ramp, operating at
a rollover car crash and had its emergency lights turned on.
ANOTHER reminder about the roadway and highway dangers faced everyday. ACT
as if we ARE going to be struck - and operate in a defensive mode. Need more
