Thursday, July 29, 2010 A Houston Fire Department vehicle has been involved in a wreck in southwest Houston.

At about 9am the truck was en route to an emergency call. The vehicle was northbound on Chimney Rock, but traveling in the southbound lanes in an effort to get around traffic. As the truck was turning eastbound onto Westheimer, it was struck by a passenger car.

A fire captain who was riding in the front passenger seat was taken to Hermann Hospital with an injured foot.
