Lincoln, Montana volunteer firefighters took cover behind their rigs when ammunition detonated inside a burning structure Tuesday. One firefighter was hit in the wrist by a round.
Some fire apparatus were also damaged, KTVH reported.
“Pretty much everything was against us, from the bitter cold, then a whiteout, to large amounts of ammo and powder going off and making us run for cover. It was a long fight, but we finally got it beat down, 8 hours later,” Lincoln Volunteer Fire Rescue wrote on its Facebook page after the fire.
