Cleveland firefighters are reporting a Triple 3 Alarm fire after a ruptured gas line caught fire in the basement of a building on W. 6th.
W. 6th is shut down from Lakeside to St. Clair as fire companies are working to contain the fire. Cleveland Fire Department Public Information Officer Mike Norman says the gas has been shut off.
A mayday call was made after a firefighter ran out of oxygen while in the basement, according to Norman. Luckily, the firefighter was able to escape and is okay.
Dominion Energy is on scene.
The building affected houses both businesses and apartments.
