11-29-04 SILVER SPRING, Md. — An accident involving a Montgomery County battalion fire chief closed a portion of New Hampshire Avenue at Bonifant Street and Good Hope Road in Silver Spring, Md., for over four hours Monday morning.
Officials said the battalion chief was responding to a fire at Gentry Ridge Court about 2:30 a.m., when the accident happened.
Police said a person who was in a Jeep was ejected from his vehicle and was airlifted from the scene. The battalion chief was taken away by ambulance. Officials did not give the extent of their injuries or their name. The intersection was reopened about 6:45 a.m
