A Carlisle man is facing an assault charge after state police said he attacked two emergency medical technicians as they were treating him in an ambulance in Cumberland County’s South Middleton Twp. Police said Richard A Shultz, 32, became irate and combative when the technicians cut his shirt while the ambulance was in the 900 block of Walnut Bottom Road at 3 p.,m. Thursday. Shultz punched both EMTs in the face, police said. He was freed from county prison after posting $1,000 bail.
