BERWICK, MAINE FIREFIGHTER KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY-Others Injured
It’s with deep regret that we pass on that a Firefighter (Captain) from Berwick, Maine was killed in the Line of Duty earlier today at a multi-family dwelling fire. Captain Joel Barnes lost his life while operating at that fire.
Firefighters from the coastal areas of southern Maine and northern New Hampshire operated at a 4-alarm working apartment building fire in Berwick late this morning. During firefighting operations a mayday was called because there were members trapped.
Numerous ambulances were called to the scene, some from as far away as Portsmouth, N.H. The Maine Fire Marshal’s office is sending a team of investigators to the scene. Much more to follow-our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
