Los Angeles Fire Department says one of its captains suffered burns to one hand while battling a fire at a manufacturing facility Tuesday.
The fire captain was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
FoxLA reports that 140 firefighters responded and had the fire under control in 39 minutes. The building was compromised by the time fire crews arrived and they immediately went defensive; the building’s roof eventually collapsed.
Despite adjacent exposures, firefighters contained the fire to the original structure.
