A 31-year-old Clear Lake (Iowa) firefighter was transported to the hospital Sunday when he experienced chest pains while battling a multi-family structure fire.
The firefighter was treated and released, according to the Globe Gazette.
Firefighters were on scene at the two-family structure for five hours and received mutual aid from the Ventura Fire Department.
There were no other firefighter or civilian injuries. However, firefighters had to stop one of the residents from re-entering the burning structure to retrieve possessions; she made one trip to “save” her granddaughter’s stuffed animals.
