A Highland Park firefighter was hospitalized for smoke inhalation Saturday night after a combating a blaze at the Bishop Moore Apartments on Manchester Parkway, between Woodward and Second avenues, according to WWJ.
The apartment complex – which suffered significant damage in some areas – is comprised of mostly seniors. The fire displaced more than 100 residents, who were bused to Highland Park Recreation Center. There were no serious injuries reported.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation. Highland Park Fire Department was unable to provide an update on the hospitalized firefighter.
