Four firefighters were injured, and a dog was killed, when a three-alarm fire tore through a two-family house on Liberty Street on Saturday.
Fire Chief Peter Trentacost Sr. said Sunday that three firefighters were overcome with heat exhaustion and another suffered a laceration to his right arm.
The fire chief said the one who was cut had to be rushed to St. Mary’s General Hospital for treatment. He said the firefighter got stitches and will be placed off duty “until further notice.”
