One man is dead and his estranged wife is hospitalized after a domestic double-shooting Wednesday night. According to Miami-Dade Police, a woman was arguing with her husband at home when he shot her. She managed to drive away before crashing her car a short distance away, at Flagler Street and Southwest 109th Avenue.
As paramedics were treating the woman, she told them that she had been shot by her husband, and police officers went to the couple’s home in an attempt to locate him. While police were at the home, the man arrived at the accident scene and forced himself into the back of the ambulance where his wife was being treated and shot himself in the head. Both were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where the man died. His wife’s condition is not known.
Police said that the couple had three children at home when the woman was shot, but they were not harmed.
