A large portion of Industrial Drive in Jackson was shut down Tuesday due to a reported fire at Jaxon Energy, a diesel refinery.
Employees told firefighters as they arrived on scene that the emergency shutoff to stop fuel flow and power to the fire had been applied.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and get the fire under control.
One firefighter was hurt and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Division Fire Chief Cleotha Sanders says the firefighter was released from the hospital Wednesday morning after undergoing some tests and observation. He is now recovering at home.
