Incident Description: The initial turn out was for a reported smoldering fire discovered in silo storage bins at the Archer-Daniels-Midland loading facility, around 0545. The department’s on duty shift responded and then handed the scene off to the on coming shift crew around 0700. The explosion occurred nearly two hours later at 0845.
On January 6, 33 y/o Lieutenant Eric Hosette of the Clinton FD located in Iowa, died in the LOD

Incident Description: It is with regret that we pass on that an FDNY Firefighter died in the Line Of Duty earlier this evening. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has identified the fallen Firefighter as Steven Pollard, 30 of Ladder 170. Initial reports are that Firefighter Pollard was operating at a crash on the Belt Parkway Sunday evening, on the Mill Basin overpass, when he slipped and fell off. He was on probation with just a year and a half on the job.
