A Liberty Volunteer FD Firefighter was killed in the Line of Duty and two others were injured in a response related crash in eastern Rowan County (near Salisbury, NC) this afternoon.
The crash happened around 1400 hours when the Firefighter was in a pick-up truck and responding to a crash call when he crashed into a Ford Mustang.
The Mustang was apparently turning left into a driveway when the Firefighters pick-up truck crossed the double-yellow lines in an attempt to pass the Mustang, and the pick-up truck hit the Mustang. The Firefighter was pronounced dead at the scene and two women in the Mustang were airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition.
More to follow. Condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
