After two Huntsville, Alabama firefighters were bitten by dangerous spiders, the stations personnel and equipment were moved to safer quarters.
The department’s Station 17 was hit by brown reclusive spiders, which are one of the few spiders that can bite humans, leaving them with both wounds and poisonous venom, according to WHNT.
Capt. Frank McKenzie told the station that while they routinely treat their stations for pests, these spiders are attracted to things like damp hoses and other equipment.
Firefighters and equipment were temporarily relocated while Station 17 was fumigated.
