The FDNY is inviting you to attend the Regional Firefighter Cancer Seminar in New York City offered by the First Responder Center for Excellence (FRCE) in partnership with the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) and the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).

Copies of the FDNY publication “Reduce your Risk” will be provided to all attendees at no cost.
This will be an information filled one-day seminar that will provide attendees with an update on the current state of fire service occupational cancer and research, prevention training, best practices, information related to benefits and cancer presumptive legislation, and awareness of resources available to both departments and individual firefighters
The dramatic increase in the incidence of occupational cancers is one of the most important problems facing the fire service today. The First Responder Center for Excellence (FRCE) coordinates the activities of the Fire Service Occupational Cancer Alliance (FSOCA), a collaborative effort among all fire service constituencies to educate personnel about cancer prevention, provide resources for those who have been diagnosed with an occupational cancer, and support research to address the disease.
