DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) — A firefighter was injured this morning at a house fire on Wroe Avenue.
Dayton Fire officials say crews were called about 3:25 a.m. to 45-47 Wroe Avenue in the Five Oaks neighborhood, where they found multiple garages on fire in the rear alley.
Witnesses told Dayton 24/7 Now that they had heard loud booms and then noticed a utility pole on fire.
Fire crews say the fire had spread to adjacent homes but they were able to contain the fire to the garages, one house which sustained extensive damage and one house with moderate damage.
Dayton Fire Capt. Brad French said the firefighter was burned while working at the scene. French said the injury was not critical and the firefighter was treated at a hospital and has been released. No one else was reported injured from the fire.
The cause of that fire is under investigation.
