A Chicago Fire Department female Paramedic Field Chief (Unit #4-5-1) was robbed in her fire department issued SUV while she was standing by for EMS coverage at Chicago’s Thanksgiving Day parade Thursday morning.
Chicago police responded about 7:50 AM Thursday November 28, 2019to a strong-arm robbery at State Street and Washington St Chicago, IL. Police received a report that a male offender walked up to an EMS Paramedic Field Chief and asked her for directions. The offender then entered the Chicago Fire Department Ford SUV while the Paramedic Field Chief was giving the offender directions. The offender then stole her purse and personal items that were inside the vehicle.
The offender fled in an unknown direction, but possibly toward the CTA Red Line.
The offender is described as a male/black 5’2″ to 5’5″ wearing a black puffy jacket and green pants.
Another robbery of another victim also occurred at State Street and Adams Street. The offenders were reported to be three male/black subjects in their late teens. One was wearing a red jacket and another had dreadlocks.
State and Adams is three blocks south of State and Washington. The Chicago Thanksgiving Day parade route occurs on State Street, starting at Ida B. Well Drive/Congress Parkway and continuing north to the parade’s end near Macy’s on State Street between Washington Street and Randolph Street.
