We have a 2 year old Sutphen ladder that had a bushing come out of the main support beam. The setscrews that held in the bushing were not there. It appears that it wasn’t even drilled for a setscrew (Pictures shown). When we asked Sutphen about this, they told us about other ladders that were sent out that year and some setscrews were missed in the making of the ladder and not put in. To our knowledge, there has not ben a recall or notification. The driver found the bushing was out while the ladder was in the bed. Our concern is what if ladder was 95 feet in the air and the bushing popped out? Please share with other FD’s.
