Omega Pacific is voluntarily recalling six models of its aluminum carabiners as they can “break while in use.” About 2,000 of the units were sold in North America.
The affected carabiners were sold between February and October and range in cost from $31 to $51. They have “Omega-17 UL Classified USA” printed on the front and “Meets NFPA 1983 17ED MBS kN 40 G” on the back, Gear Junkie reported. There is a two-digit lot code “OD” on the bottom of the spine.
Those who believe they have the potentially defective carabiners are advised to stop using them and contact Omega Pacific at 800-360-3990, [email protected], or www.omegapac.com for a full refund or replacement.
