Two firefighters suffered first- and second-degree burns; a third suffered second- and third-degree burns Monday as Greenville County, S.C., firefighters battled a well-involved house fire.
“We were behind the eight ball when we pulled up,” Belmont (S.C.) Fire Chief Anthony Segars told Fox Carolina. Flames were already blowing through the roof and the structure was about 70 percent involved when crews arrived, he said.
Segars said all the firefighters were wearing their proper PPE. At least one of the firefighters was transported to a hospital for treatment.
